This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you submit a pitch, engage with us as an investor, advisor, or founder, communicate with our team, or visit our website. This Privacy Policy also describes the rights you may have under privacy laws. 
By providing us with your information, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

In this Privacy Policy, the term “personal information” refers to any information (in any format) that relates to an individual and that directly or indirectly identifies the individual.

  • Identifiers and Contact Information: such as name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. We may collect this information if you contact us on our website or by other means.

  • Professional & Company Information: such as company name, role, pitch decks, business plans, and other materials shared for evaluation. We may collect this information when you choose to submit a pitch to us.

  • Investor Information: such as financial details, accreditation status, and other information required for regulatory and compliance purposes. We may collect this information for purposes of evaluation of your pitch.

  • Communications: such as details provided through correspondence, meetings, or when you interact with our team.

  • Technical Information: such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and website usage data through cookies or similar technologies. This information may include information about your visit to or use of our website.

  • Other:  such as information you provide to us when you complete the online form on our website, including your country of birth, your gender, the race of ethnicity you identify with, to help us learn more about your venture.

2. How We Use Your Information

We may use your information for the following purposes, or otherwise with your consent or as permitted or required by law:

  • To manage our business activities: for example, to evaluate investment opportunities, review and assess pitches, business plans, and other submissions.

  • To manage fund operations: for example, to manage investor relations, due diligence, reporting, and compliance with fund management obligations.

  • To communicate with you: for example, to respond to inquiries, provide feedback, share updates, and deliver investor or founder communications, or for marketing purposes. 

  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations: for example, to fulfill our obligations under securities, anti-money laundering (AML), and privacy laws. 

  • To ensure and improve our operations and services and their security: for example, to enhance our processes, operations, and user experience, business strategies, to detect fraud (or other illegal activities) and ensure the security of our IT systems, by analyzing your use of them and ensuring their proper functioning.

  • For other purposes permitted or required by law. We will not use personal information for any other purpose without your consent, unless we are legally permitted or required to do so by law, for example, to comply with a legal obligation or to protect the rights, including property rights, and interests of Maple Bridge.

  • Service Providers: With trusted service providers who support our operations (e.g.,   legal counsel, auditors, compliance firms, IT providers). These providers are contractually required to protect your personal information and use it only as directed.

Where required by law or regulation, with regulators and legal authorities, and/or when we believe it is appropriate for the purposes of complying with the law, enforcing our agreements, or protecting the rights, title deeds or safety of Maple Bridge, its clients or other parties. 

  • Portfolio Companies & Co-Investors: Where necessary to facilitate investment opportunities, subject to confidentiality protections.

  • Other situations. We may share your personal information in other situations, in which case we will inform you of such practices and obtain your prior consent (or as required or permitted by law).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. How We Protect Your Information

We employ appropriate technical, administrative, and physical measures to safeguard your personal information in its custody or control from unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure. including:

  • Secure Storage: Use of encrypted storage systems and data security protocols, including the establishment of technical safeguards such as firewalls, passwords, anti-virus software and other similar measures;.

  • Access Controls: Limiting access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.

  • Contractual protections and other measures: Ensuring that service providers with whom we share personal information maintain adequate safeguards and security standards.

  • Regular Assessments: Ongoing reviews of our practices to maintain strong data security standards.

  • Internal Processes: Processes for handling privacy complaints and inquiries, including regarding any confidentiality incidents involving personal information; internal policies and procedures that define the roles and responsibilities of our employees throughout the information lifecycle and that limit their access to information on a need-to-know basis; a Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and training of employees on privacy and information security;

  • Correct: You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information that you consider inaccurate and to complete information that you consider incomplete. You may also have the right to request rectification of your personal information if the collection, disclosure or retention of such information is not permitted by law.

  • Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw consent to processing, where processing is based on consent.

7. International Transfers of your Personal Information

Some of our external third-party service providers may be based outside of Canada.
